Worry Free & Cost Effective.
Your business is unique! We will take the time to talk to you about your business needs. We try not to set standard pricing for any of our services because the same service delivered to two different businesses can vary in cost so greatly. We only supply what you need!
Below are some of our more popular areas of work. Once we have a fuller understanding of your business needs we can provide what you want, when you want it and at a price that reflects exactly what you need – and no more! Obviously, discounts apply where we undertake multiple tasks. Our fees are competitive and we offer a day rate and/or fixed project fee.
We believe in total transparency - meaning there will be no hidden extras.
Please telephone as above and we'll evaluate the provision you already have in place. Our number one priority is ensuring you are complying fully with the law and keeping yourself, your staff and your customers safe. If you don't meet all the requirements we'll advise you on the areas which require attention.
Possibly a follow – up Workplace inspection / assessment may provide a clearer insight into your compliance. At the very least it will benchmark where you are, point out where you need to be and therefore what you need us to help you with to get there.
A workplace audit allows your organisation to see how it is performing against relevant standards, identify shortfalls and implement corrective action. Without audits your organisation will struggle to ascertain the effectiveness of its Health and Safety management processes and may leave areas of risk unattended.
SM offers a comprehensive review of your existing management system. In addition a full compliance assessment to applicable Health and Safety legislation will be undertaken.
Audit reports come with a detailed summary of findings, recommended solutions and actions plans as applicable.
We'll visit your premises, discuss what you do and how you do it, talk to your staff and then ensure you have detailed risk assessments that reflect what you do and how you do it.
If you employ more than five people this is a legal requirement. Health and Safety policies give an overall view of how you manage Health and Safety and who is responsible. These are invaluable for employees and demonstrate your commitment to good Health and Safety practices.
It is good practice for employers to investigate accidents.
SM provides an impartial and thorough accident investigation service. We will assist you with the reporting of health and safety incidents relating to your organisation. When investigating an accident it is not our intention to allocate blame, but to thoroughly examine the direct and indirect causes of the accident with a view to avoiding a recurrence.
Accident investigation is a useful aid to prevention and may even help to save you money in the long term.
For your peace of mind the option of entering into an annual support contract is also available, providing you with unlimited 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year access to telephone and e-mail advice. SM Safety Management will become your ‘Competent Person’ as required under Regulation 7 (Health and Safety Assistance) of the Management of Health and Safety at Work Regulations 1999.
SM will also provide you with accurate and relevant bulletins, including legislation changes. Any general changes to documents, for example the addition of a new paragraph to your Health and Safety policy will also be included in the annual support fee. You may also use our name and logo on all your documents.
In advance of our visit a questionnaire will be issued to office staff. During our visit our consultant will provide office staff with a briefing before carrying out training and assessment on all relevant members of staff. You'll then receive a report and further information on any improvements you need to make, with our full, on-going support.
A safety manual (or Safety Management System) brings together your policies, procedures and assessments into one place to allow greater control over the safety of your workforce and customers. SM will work with you to develop a system that fully complies with UK Health and Safety Law.
If your company is in need of significant Health and Safety input, but you can't justify the cost of employing a full time member of staff, then we are here to take the reins. We can become your Health and Safety department, but at a fraction of the cost of employing someone on a permanent basis. This can also include full CDM Coordinator duties in compliance with CDM 2007.
